reinstall and now no themes show – help?

  • Hi,

    I have changed domains and moved wordpress over, everything is working perfectly, i can make posts thats all fine. However now i want to change themes and which ever theme i upload (and i am uploading into the themes directory) they don’t show up in the presentation screen.

    I have one theme in there – Jakarta and there use to be a thumbnail preview but this has gone too.

    I have tried deleting the themes form the server and re uploading but this has not helped. Has anyone had any experience of this?

    Would you sugest deleting the entire wordpress folder and reuploading again?

    ok, its worse! No, its my partners site im trying to sort out. I have been redesigning the site today and have just come to sort out his blog.

    I got my webhosting company to move all the database tables over to the new domain, i uploaded my files and blog to the new domain, but had not deleted the old domain so this afternoon when trying to change the themes in inadvertently on the old domain. i have only just realized this since you wrote. So now upon deleting the content on the old domain it has left me in a big pickle! This is his blog ??

    and i get page cannot be displayed when trying to get to his dashboard.

    oh dear oh dear. Have you any ideas? Im sorry this is a bigger problem than you had probably bargained for ??

    Most likely the DB is still pointing to the old domain – since you didn’t mention changing that.
