Hi @jptailfashion ,
Even I also faced a similar issue after taking an update. After rollback latest update my site is working perfectly fine now. I created a ticket but no response from oceanwp guys.
Hello @jptailfashion, @felipexa and @netesh,
Sorry to hear about your experience.
It’s indeed strange, but we’d like to rule out everything on our end so we need your help to get to the bottom of this. Luckily or unfortunately, there have not been other cases reported neither we are able to replicate this on any of our sites, therefore your help is much appreciated.
If possible, all three of you set up staging sites and reach us with as many information as possible, along with WP and FTP admin login details for the staging environments.
If you don’t have a staging site set, your hosting provider support can help you with this matter.
If you would like to create a staging site on your own, then you can use the following plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-staging/
Follow this tutorial on how to create a staging site with the plugin above: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtY-q5BBpeE
If you’re clients, you can submit a ticket, if not, please submit a prepurchase ticket and you can reference this thread in the ticket: https://oceanwp.org/pre-purchase-question/
A huge thanks to all of you in advance
Hello, I would like to report the exact same issue for 2 websites, one hosted by siteground and one on cloudways.
For both sites, the update to oceanwp 3.03 to 3.04 leaded to a huge CPU and RAM increase.
Rolling back to version 3.03 fixed it. Both support told me about tremendous increase in Ajax Requests.

Here are some of the info Siteground support gave me:
“As far as I could see, the reason for the high load seems to be the self-referring requests generated by the website.
Another thing I noticed is the increased admin-ajax.php executions.”- This reply was modified 3 years, 3 months ago by torax.
I created a ticket as well. attached is the screenshot as well.

As this is a copy of a site in production, I need to check if I can provide access, as the site has customer data.
If I can provide it, I will contact you via the link provided.Guys I didn’t even contact oceanwp because they didn’t release any updates or notice so they won’t think they are wrong
I was always contacting the server and they suggest me to upscale everything
this update actually crashed my ram my CPU and my disk
it’s ridiculous because it was occupying 25gb of my disk in one day
and when you ask for a restart of the server
the CPU and the ram will be crushed as well as the mysqlAlmost everything.
recommend you guys to contact your server and report this issue to them so that they can help others
Hope other people’s business wont go through what I just went through these days, 0 incomeOceanwp should always put older version of the theme on your site, you cant guarantee you nvr have problems ??
I’m sorry, I fail to understand this part “Guys I didn’t even contact oceanwp because they didn’t release any updates or notice so they won’t think they are wrong”
This is conflicting with your original post. Either you did update the theme or not?
And to clarify something out, before replying to you guys here, I double-checked all sites on our end – no problems. I consulted with multiple developers who handle 3-digit OceanWP built websites, including those who run their own hosting – no problem.
But that doesn’t mean we will not hear you out or check things for you/with you, as we want to rule out everything we can, ie eliminate possible edge cases related to OceanWP if such exist.
You and everyone who commented here – we’re offering our help, but we also hope you understand we need your help here too.
Thank you
@wpfleek I sent you link to staging website and credentials BUT, be careful please, since if staging website suddenly consume all ressources, it also affect the live one.
Thanks for your support!
Hi Marko,
I did not get any link to submit the ticket, could you please try sending it again. I will submit all details.
@wpfleek
I sent the credentials.
In my case, you can do the necessary tests, as the site is on an isolated server and without any customer data.Incidentally, this is the third time I need to do a rollback of OceanWP, where minor updates broke or caused the site to stop working.

@felipexa and @torax thank you very much guys, tickets received and already forwarded.
@netesh you can submit all info using this link: https://oceanwp.org/pre-purchase-question/
I would really like to thank all of you for helping us catch this edge case. Apart from this group here, only 2 other users reported the same problem (at the time of me posting this comment).
Even though that number may appear small, I hope you know we take these things seriously as we gain nothing by doing the “not our problem” dance but risk everything.
Those who submitted tickets will be notified in person, and I will also comment here for everyone else.
Thanks a million to everyone once again
