Why would it be good for SEO?

because we should add helpful pages to search engin result that can be useful for people, blog pages are not an article and we can’t write a description for each one! so links like this:

    title – page 2
    https://example.com/page/2/
    with no useful description

has no mean for users! do you ever click on a link like this?

a useful link for people and search engine should be like this:

title – this is an awesome article
    https://example.com/category/awesome-article
you can find a perfect article here about the title i wrote.

    sorry for my bad english…

I kinda disagree, I click on page 2 because sometimes the blog post might get pushed off to the 2nd page and google so happen to indexed the page.

it’s hurt your ranking trust me. but it’s up to you to add a rel nofollow or not. i’m just suggesting.

people who read this can stop google pagination in two way:

    1. with robots.txt file and adding this line:
    disallow: */page/

    2. add a rel nofollow to page link.
    <a href="#" rel="noffolow">page</a>

thank you lester for your responds.

Point taken, lets see if there are more requests, if there are, I will add in an option to disable it.

As far as I know, most sites do allow bots to crawl pagination pages. Even the default theme twentyfourteen doesn’t add rel noffolow to its pagination.
