Love this plugin, saved tons of time and easy to use

    One query though…

I’m using the sidebars to place banners in,

Whilst the banners/sidebars do show in ‘individual’ categories, when a search is performed, a related banner/sidebar does not show?

I have checked ‘Template Hierarchy’ > ‘Search Results’ but is not showing related banner based on the keys words used in the search?

    Thanks again ??

    Hi there,

Whilst the banners/sidebars do show in ‘individual’ categories, when a search is performed, a related banner/sidebar does not show?

This is related to the plugin you’re using to display the banner adverts, rather than to WooSidebars. By the time the widget code is processed, WooSidebars has already done it’s work, and replaced the sidebar. A WooSidebars-replaced sidebar isn’t treated any differently by WordPress itself, when being output.

I’d advise contacting the author of the banner adverts plugin you’re using, for guidance regarding displaying banner adverts relative to search results.

    Hi,

    Thanks for that,

I’m using ‘Adrotate’ so I create a specific group in that for say, Bikes

Then, I create a Widget Area in which I enter all the related keywords etc

In the wp widgets section, I then add ‘adrotate group number’ early created into the ‘Bikes Widget Area’

However, on the front end, unrelated banners appear?

Unless I’m actually using the ‘Widget Area’ plugin incorrectly of course ??

    Hi,

If I were not to use adrotate, how would I store and show the banners and their respective links?

    Hi there,

Using AdRotate shouldn’t be an issue at all. ??

Perhaps the widget settings aren’t being saved correctly, in the AdRotate widget?

Alternatively, perhaps the custom widget area you’ve created has conditions which are being superseded by other widget areas.

If you apply a single page condition to the “Bikes” widget area, as the only condition, does this then display the correct adverts on the page set as the condition?

    Hi Matty,

    Thanks for that,

I take your point and did check the settings; all appear in order.

In ‘Widgets’, I add the ‘adrotate widget’ to the ‘woosidebar widget’, I set adrotate to ‘Show widget when true’ and applied all the ‘conditions’.

However, When navigating to a main category, it shows an unrelated sidebar widget/banners?

Conversely however, when looking at a ‘listing’; it shows the correct widget/banner?

I am at a loss why this is?

    Hi Rik0399,

It sounds, to me, as though the conditions aren’t set correctly. The listing itself would be a different condition to the category of the listing.

Would you mind please sharing screenshots of the conditions you’ve set (the conditions are all listed in a column on the widget areas list screen, for convenience)?

    Thanks in advance.
