• Hi,

we are using SSL for our WordPress site. When I try to open post from our website using HTTPS:// at the beggining of URL, I get warning message: Your connection to https://www.yoursite.com is encrypted with 128-bit encryption. However, this page includes other resources which are not secure. These resources can be viewed by others while in transit, and can be modified by an attacker to change the look of the page.

I checked in firebug all requests and found out, that there is only one HTTP request and it is related to your plugin: https://t.related-posts.com/pageview/?postid=…

I found out, that this address is configured as a WP_RP_CTR_REPORT_URL constant in config.php file from your plugin directory. I changed https:// to https:// and it solve my problem with warning message about non-secure content but I realized in Firebug that this request with https://t.related-posts.com/pageview/… is now aborted.

I have no idea if this aborted request affect functionality of your plugin but I want to ask you if there is a better solution how to fix warning message about non-secure content without need to edit config.php file from your plugin.

Thanks in advance for your answer.

  • Hey!

Thanks for reaching out! Fortunately, we are aware of this HTTPS situation we’re in, but as it seems, it will takes us some time to actually fix it. We suspect not more than a few weeks.

And we’re sincerely sorry about this! We know we should have thought about it earlier, but as it is (with things in life), some slip our mind — unintentionally, of course.

But nonetheless — big thanks for bringing this up to us and we’ll definitely keep you posted on what’s going on in the following weeks. And please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions regarding our service, I’ll gladly help!

Take care & have a nice day!

    Best,
    Silvo

Hi, just wondering if the latest update has addressed the SSL issue?

Hey @thecookiemonster, I’m afraid to say that this issue is not addressed in our latest update yet, but we are working on it and expect it to be released in one of our next updates. It really shouldn’t take us longer than a couple of weeks, since we have quite a lot of testing to do and since we cannot afford to undergo any failures (as you can probably imagine).

I’ll definitely let you know as soon as I know more about this feature! Hopefully this moment will come soon enough.

In any case — thank you for your patience! Much appreciated!

    Thanks and keep it up!

    Hey!

Yeah, we just had our final meeting an hour ago where we discussed on what’s the best way how to approach this issue. I certainly hope I’ll be able to get back to you with some good news soon enough!

    I’ll keep you posted!

    Take care!

    Silvo
