I’ve got a new site I’m working on — actually, a new version of an older, currently active site. I’ve been trying to get the Jetpack related posts to show up.

Currently Jetpack is the only plugin running. When I go to debug, I see “Indexing request queued and waiting…” — that hasn’t changed for 2+ hours.

Now, on the WordPress.com account associated with this new site (note: this is a NEW WordPress.com account and the site I’m working on is the ONLY site associated with the account), I do see all of the 100+ posts duplicated there. So that part seems to have worked — but how long does the actual indexing typically take? After 2+ hours, should I be concerned about a problem?

I’d like to wrap this up so I can put the site back into maintenance mode.

    Thanks in advance!

Looks like they eventually showed up. Took about 4-5 hours.

    Problem solved. ??

I’m glad to see you’re all set!

That depends on the number of posts to index, and how fast we can synchronize the content from your site. We prefer slowing things down a bit to make sure the synchronization process doesn’t affect your site’s performance.

    Thanks for the clarification, Jeremy.

That makes a lot of sense. When I did this before, it felt like it took minutes, not hours. Of course, I’m typically only indexing a few starter posts. I had 145 posts for this project.

So this is good information to have for future sites I build. ??
