Related Posts not returning good results?

Ever since upgrading to the latest version of Simple Tags, the Related Posts feature is returning bad results. Typically, it just assigns the same 3 posts to all new posts, posts which all begin with the letter W–I think they are the last posts alphabetically. It does this even when those 3 posts have no tags in common with the current post.

Any advice?
