    Hi there,

I am not seeing the delay on my end when checking gtmetrix:

Are you still experiencing the delay or have disabled the feature?

There is not way to cache or accelerate those Related Posts queries, but it doesn’t usually have a significant or noticeable impact on the page loading time.

While the addition of various Jetpack modules can indeed increase page loading time, there are other modules that can also help decrease page load time. Specifically, I’d recommend using the Site Accelerator which allows Jetpack to serve images via our servers, as well as optimizing them. It also serves static files like CSS and JavaScript from our servers as well. There is more information on this here:

    https://jetpack.com/support/site-accelerator/

The Lazy Images module also helps page load time by loading images as they appear in the browser:

Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

Hi there, thank you for getting back to me. I already have site accelerator activated & Lazy load via my cache plugin (fastest cache).

It’s further down the waterfall called – https://www.ourtasteforlife.com/visa-extension-bali/?relatedposts=1

    Hi there,

I’m not seeing a significant delay either. As @darnelldibbles already mentioned, there’s not a way to tweak the loading time of the Related Posts.

Despite what those metrics show, when visiting your site do you notice a significant delay when viewing the Related Posts?

    Hi Fotis,

I’m trying to get my site to load under 4 seconds, right now it is ranging between 6-10 seconds.

I have tested with related posts switched off and the waiting notice above is gone and the speed time goes down by 3-5 seconds.

Interesting, it might be a regional difference.

Do you see the same delay in the waterfall via https://www.webpagetest.org/ ?

    Hi James,

Thank you for coming back to me. I turned on the feature, ran the test from US & UK via https://www.webpagetest.org/ which showed a 5/6 second delay from related posts.

To clarify, is it a 5 to 6 second delay or a fraction of one second, ie 5/6ths. ? Thanks!

It may be a good idea to include related posts resources using “async” and lazy loading. Then, it won’t matter to actual user experience if they take a bit of time.
