When I started setting up my woocommerce, I changed the “Uncategorized” category the default one to “Clothing” and added some categories and subcategories

My problem exist in different themes I tried

The related products show only from one category, the default “Clothing” category and ignore others categories

It was solved by another Related Products plugin, but I want use the built-in woocommerce for design reasons

    How to fix it?

    Hello samysalahgad,

Thank you for contacting Woo support.

I understand the challenge you’re facing with related products.

A possible solution is to leave the default “Uncategorized” category as it is and create a new category specifically for “Clothing.” Some themes may rely on the default “Uncategorized” category in their code, which could lead to related products being limited to just that category.

When you mention that related products are ignoring categories, are you referring to the main categories or the subcategories under “Clothing”?

Clarifying this will help us pinpoint the issue more accurately.
Looking forward to your response. ??

    Best regards.

I did that and created new site from scratch and new categories without any subcategory, still the same, it only show related products from the first category created, the only thing fixed it to use plugin for related products

    Hi @samysalahgad

I understand your concern. By default, WooCommerce shows related products from the same category. If your products belong to multiple categories, they should display related products from all those categories.

If you only see related products from the first category created, it might be an issue with your theme or a conflict with another plugin. To troubleshoot, please try switching to a default theme like Storefront and deactivating all plugins except WooCommerce to see if the issue persists.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.
