Relations of “Serious Relationship” etc. not translatable

  • On the search form the phrases of “Serious Relationship”, “Open Relationship” and “Friendship” under the label “Relation” cannot be translated despite the presence of their translations in the .po files. It looks like they may have been translated in the past as people have added their translations for more than one language.

    Perhaps things are out of sync (a new master file may be needed perhaps?) or perhaps these phrases are dynamically (on-the-fly) created?

    Anyway this is a minor problem and most users will be able to work out the meaning.

    Hi,

    If you use a language for which Rencontre has been translated by the WordPress community, the MO file is directly downloaded and installed in the wp-content/languages/plugins folder. This file takes precedence over the one in wp-content/plugins/rencontre/lang/. You will have to modify this first file.

    I checked. The mo and po files are in only one location.

    To test, I altered another phrase (“I search”) in the .po file using Loco Translate and the change was picked up (after the compilation into the .mo file). However “Serious relationship”, “open relationship” and “friendship” refuse to be translated.

    I have downloaded the new files and things are working perfectly now.

    I can’t thank you enough. Rencontre is a very nice application.
