relationship between PMP users and WordPress users

    Just discovered that Simple Membership maintains a separate member list which, unfortunately, doesn’t keep itself synchronized with the WordPress users it creates. As a result we have chronic profile/password issues because the WordPress users and Simple Membership members aren’t in sync.

    Does PMP use WordPress users and roles, or a separate member list?

  • PMPro uses the standard WP user accounts with the WP “subscriber” role (though any other role will work too). PMPro grants access to protected content using its own “level” assignment and manages this through separate tables in the WP DB. It does not replicate any standard WP data about users / members.
