Relative vs absolute URLs in posts

    I am building a site offline using WP. It has many images, and although I enter their URLs (ie in the image dialog when posting) in relative form, eg /photos/…, when I revisit the dialog the URL has been converted to an absolute form, eg https://localhost/wordpress/photos/….

    When I relocate my site to a hosting service, am I going to have to edit all these links? Ditto if I ever change hosting services?
