[Release] WPhone: Manage Your WP Install Via Your Phone

  • Thought I’d shamelessly promote and share our new plugin.

    WPhone allows you to use a custom admin interface while interacting with your WordPress install via your phone. It supports all mobile devices, but was mainly designed and coded for the iPhone and iPod touch.

    It was a response to a challenge by Matt posted to the wp-hackers mailing list.

  • And, as a note to all owners of mobile devices: we crave your input and bugfixes! None of us own an iPhone or Touch, so any bugreports will really help us out. A lot.

    VERY cool plugin – Thanks for writing this one! I just installed it and tested it out on my iPhone – functionally works very well, although the style is off by just a small amount (the top blue bar extends about halfway through the first item in any list) – but I wandered through all of the options and it’s very easy to navigate and manage anything I needed to.

    This is a wonderful tool I will definitely use for those times that I’m on the road and not able to get out and boot up my laptop. I like it so much I’m writing a post about for my blog right now!

    Just to let you know: we’ve released the final version of this plugin before the closing of the contest that Matt is sponsoring. There’s a TON of new functionality — read the release notes for more info. (Styling tweaks are definitely among the improvements, Trisha. *grin*)

    This looks super duper. Any chance at making a WPMU + multisite version?
