I recently started using the relevanssi search for my admin interface, and although the search works great it seems to no longer allow my editors to sort their results by title or date.

after search results are returned my editors frequently need to further refine the search results by sorting by title or date. Traditionally, clicking the “Title” or “Date” column header will do this. But with relevanssi search enabled in the admin interface, clicking either of these column headers reload the page but does not change the results.

Here’s a sample of the URL for “title”: edit.php?s=my+search&post_status=all&post_type=post&action=-1&m=0&cat=0&mode=list&action2=-1&orderby=title&order=asc

Yes, that’s correct, Relevanssi doesn’t support sorting results in admin searches. It has simply never occurred to me that someone might want to do that =) I’ll have to look into adding the feature, but it’s not a high priority and at the moment it is not possible.

fair enough. The main problem we were having was we have over 4 years of blog posts, and relevant results were not weighing recent results. I’ve found a work around to make this easier, but if the feature was added in a later version that would be much appreciated!

I’ll certainly look into it and see how complicated it would be.

Masses of old posts can be a problem. On one site, I did a small fix that made posts in the “News” category simply disappear from admin to make browsing the other stuff easier…
