relocating where index.php shows up?

Hi Iridiax, thanks for posting, but neither of those do what i need done ; )

I dont want to move my wordpress core files at all, I only want the index page to show up somewhere else (currently it is showing up in the root, but I want it to show up somehwere like https://www.myurl.com/blog) How can I do this without moving my core files?

what version of wordpress? when you created the post you indicated 2.0.5 — is that correct? if not, what is?

its impossible to give you accurate info w/o that.

also, you dont move the index.php inside your theme’s directory. THAT never moves.

The index.php that gets moved is the one that lives in the same directory as your wp-config.php

Yup Im using 2.0.5

I had forgotten that there was another index file, on the root. Great! So, if I want my index to show up at https://www.myurl.com/blog instead of https://www.myrul.com … I need to go into Options and change only Blog Address to https://www.myurl.com/blog (not WordPress address?). Then place my root index.php in https://www.myurl.com/blog ? Is that the entire process?

the only difference is that you wont be copying the the index.php into root — you’ll be copying it somewhere else.

Adjust the path accordingly or it wont work. Thats #9 on that list.

I have another issue with the new index page. For some reason, no matter what code I use, I cannot align my first post to the very top of the page. The wp code drops everything in my table down 16 pixels. The page is here: https://www.ventilate.ca/blog

Any ideas why this is happening?
