    Hi

In the latest update you say to stay on 5.6.4 of CF7. Bu I am reluctant to have to go backwards.

The only issue I had was with spacing and your most recent update fixed it. Now you are saying you taken that code back out.

Can’t the CF7 author collaborate with you better on this? To have a stable way forward?

No, the author does not want to communicate with me anymore. I’m not 100% sure why, but I’m sure it has something to with a misunderstanding concerning copyrights. In the first years after releasing the plugin I had been calling it “Contact Form 7: Conditional Fields”, which is not allowed according to WP guidelines. I was unaware of this.

After I proposed a pull request on GitHub, the author pointed this out to me. I immediately renamed my plugin, but I feel the damage was done at this point. I tried several times to contact him again trough slack/email/github/support forums without any success.

I have been playing with the idea of forking the plugin, and integrate conditional fields in it, just for the sake of no longer having to rely on a third party plugin that I can’t control, but I really don’t want to go that route because I really love CF7 and I deeply respect the developer. I can’t blame him for not wanting to collaborate with me. In the end this plugin is simply another one in an endless list of contact form 7 extensions.

Let us hope he has a change of heart. At the end of the day your plugin is an enhancement to his plugin. So yours advertises his. How can that be a bad thing?!

Anyway, I use the two plugins together and without your last update it would be bust again showing large gaps.

I updated your plugin. As expected I now have the gaps again.

normally the combination cf7 5.6.4 and cf 2.2.11 should work fine. cf7 5.7 is simply broken in itself and should never be installed. i see that the author is planning the 5.7.1 release and i can tell from looking at the source code on github that it includes the fix for the extra white spaces. so once 5.7.1 is released all should be fine. for now keep using 5.6.4
