    Hi Guys,

I’ve been having a scan through the forum and the kb but am struggling to find a solution to my problem.

The basic gist of it is that I have a blog farm setup. Users can create an account on the main ‘subscription’ site which will then allow them to create one or more microsites as WordPress network sites.

I have S2Member setup as multi-site and this is all working fine with the plugin appearing as expected in the microsites. However, the configuration of these sites will be completed on the main ‘subscription’ site with the microsite acting as an almost brochure site. The point being that the site owner will not be given admin access to the microsite.

This creates a problem as I need to populate the S2Member options (for the microsite) from the subscription site rather than from the options pages on the microsite. This needs to be done shortly after the microsite is created and behind the scenes.

I therefore need someway of doing this via the API or a comparable way but am struggling to find any information on this. Obviously I’m aware I could do a straight modification of the DB or something similar but I was hoping to find a ‘standard’ way of doing this. I stumbled across the ‘ws_plugin__s2member_configure_options_and_their_defaults()’ function and wondered if this might be the way to go but thought I would ask if there is better way here first.

Many thanks in advance for your help!

  • I’m not sure, I haven’t done that myself… If I were trying to hack that, I’d probably look at the s2Member options importer, if you have s2Member Pro.

The method you mention could probably be used too, edited to the defaults you want, I guess. Like I said, I haven’t tried this, so I can’t say for sure…

Maybe there is a plugin to manage plugins in a multisite network, that’d let you set defaults for the child blogs… I remember seeing some to manage plugins in child blogs, but am not sure about their defaults.

    Sorry I wasn’t of more help. :/

    Hi Cristian,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you I’ve been frantically coding away on a solution. Have managed to achieve the desired result now through some curl calls and using some of the menu page logic.

Thanks very much for the pointers, got there in the end!

That’s great! Thanks for the update. I’m glad you sorted it out. ??
