• I have just set up two different instances of FreshDesk but I can no longer get to the control panel of either, only the client side.

In both cases the browser gets into a loop and tells me the same thing ~ “Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete”.

The odd thing is it was working fine until I tried to log in via the remote login in your single sign-in plugin

Cookies are switched on and I cleared them from the browser cache so I have no idea where to go from here.

  • Did you try this link to troubleshoot with?

“Remember that you can always go to:
https://your_subdomain_name.freshdesk.com/access/normal to use the regular login
in case you get unlucky and somehow lock yourself out of Freshdesk.

And, is your domain using SSL or do you have Freshbooks set to use SSL or not? Your error sounds like what I run into if there’s a conflict with a setting somewhere (General Settings, .htaccess, etc.) that has to do with http and https getting switch up somewhere.

@terence did you try logging in with the URL structure given by @jeffreywryan?

The issue can sometimes be caused by either other plugins, SSl or redirect rules in .htaccess.

If you can email me your issue directly to [email protected] I can try to see it in more detail.

The answer was quite simple in the end, one that will happen again and again if you don’t make it clearer in your set-up instructions.

Last week I set up the account on FreshDesk with a set of credentials {different email address} than I had used in my WordPress credentials when that was set up last year. The two didn’t tally so, I was looked out of the admin account, quite correctly as it happens.

I think you should make it clear that, when setting up the FreshDesk account for the first time you must use the same credentials, or at least the same email address, if you have login on the WordPress site that is being used for the SSI.

Thanks for following up on this guys. Much appreciated. But panic over now!
