I’ve been using Updraft Plus for backing up my single WP site on Google drive for several years. Today I went in to reduce the frequency of backups and delete some old backups because Gdrive was getting too full. I got that done by remote access through the Updraft plugin control panel, but I noticed I’m getting a message at the top of screen that “UpdraftPlus notice: UpdraftVault has been chosen for remote storage, but you are not currently connected. ” Indeed, when I return to the Settings tab, Updraft Vault is selected for remote storage.

I change it back to Google Drive, and I read below, “Authenticate with Google: (You appear to be already authenticated, though you can authenticate again to refresh your access if you’ve had a problem).”

So I go through the authentication process again half a dozen times, clicking Sign in with Google, and it goes successfully each time. I get a new dashboard message reading “UpdraftPlus Backup/Restore Success: you have authenticated your Google Drive account. Name: XXXXX. Your Google Drive quota usage: 40.6 % used, 9119.3 MB available”

But when I return to Updraft, there is the same dashboard message about UpdraftVault, and that is again selected in the settings. I even try the “Follow this link to remove these settings for Google Drive” link for Google before re-authentication, and the problem persists. After changing to Google, I save before reauthing, and I save after reauthing, but it seems no different.

More weirdly, when I go to the Backup/Restore tab, I can click on “Rescan remote storage.” and it reloads the list of backups, showing the Google Drive icon on each item. But if I “Backup now”, I get a message that “no remote storage locations have been selected.”

The Complete Setup page in the reauthing process has a link to obtain the authentication token manually, which I have done, but there is no place to enter that on the Updraft settings page.

    Hello,

Please could you try wiping your settings by navigating to?Advanced Tools?>>?Wipe settings? From here please re-authenticate Google Drive and test to see if this solves the issue.

Thanks! But the problem resolved by itself. Maybe with the automatic update to WP version: 6.4.3 ?

    All okay now. Cheers.
