I was about to set shopping ads in my Pinterest account. Then I realized I still had that old catalog I created with a different plugin before I used the official one. So I deleted it. I’m not sure if that is reason but it seem so, since now I’m getting this error despite my catalog being practically the same from the last successful ingestion.

I compared the new one with my previos catalog and they are the same except the last one is bigger because I added more products.

I saw a solution that I had to remove the plugin and create another feed to fix it but wouldn’t that also erase all my current catalog data? I was getting substantial amount of engagement on my catalog that I wanted to take advantage for my ads.

In the meantime I readded the old catalog I still have floating around since apparently that makes the ingestion successful.

I would appreciate any kind of help.

    Hi @jaspix

This issue could indeed be related to the deletion of the old catalog. However, it could also be due to various other factors, such as changes in product data or discrepancies in the configuration of the new catalog compared to the old one.

While removing the plugin and creating another feed might resolve the issue, as you’ve pointed out, this could potentially erase your current catalog data. This isn’t the ideal solution, especially considering the engagement you’ve been receiving.

Instead, I recommend trying the following steps:

    1. Check the configuration settings of the new catalog and ensure they match with the old one. This includes your Pinterest account connection, product data fields, etc.
    2. Make sure the new products added to the catalog are correctly configured and do not contain any errors.
    3. Try manually triggering a feed update from the plugin settings to see if it resolves the issue.

If the problem persists, please provide us with additional details about the error messages you’re receiving, and a copy of your site’s System Status Report with us. You’ll find it at the top of the page under WooCommerce > Status > Select Get System Report and then Download for Support.

You could copy and paste your reply or share it via Mozilla Community Pastebin and send the link here. This will help us investigate further and provide you with a more accurate solution.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    1. I’m pretty sure they have the same configuration, I didn’t tweak any of the settings.
    2. The new products do not contain errors, just the usual Alerts I always get. (that’s the error I got after deleting my old feed)

    3. How do I do that? There’s no option to trigger a manual feed update. I tried turning on and off product sync but that apparently created another catalog feed file. Would that remove my current catalog data?

One thing I noticed is that my current products are still being updated. and they are somewhat still displayed on Pinterest (including the new ones). Is it a false positive? Or is it using my old feed? That wouldn’t explain why the new products are showing up. Maybe a display issue on Pinterest? I remember back then that I also tried to delete the old catalog when I just installed the official plugin but it wouldn’t let me for some reason, now with the new UI it let me but now it triggered that error.

I’m still waiting for my Product feed to be configured on Pinterest so let’s see if option 3 actually fixes the issue. If there was an issue to being with, since my new products still show up in my pinterest catalog and I was able to create shopping ads using it.

Well, replying to myself. The product feed didn’t overwrite itself despite the filename being different so that’s a relief.

I’m still getting the previous error tho, so I guess I should just wait till tomorrow.

I’m gonna try adding my old catalog like I intended to do in the first place to see if that actually solves something.

    Also here, my system status

Wouldn’t that delete my current catalog data and engagement? I don’t want to lose that considering it’s not an error on my part.

After adding the deleted feed, the error code is gone but now I get an alert instead.

And despite that my catalog is still getting update and product pins are displaying correctly.

    Hello.

I followed the steps about deleting the data removal of the plugin, I was very hesitant since it could also delete my Pinterest catalog data.

Thankfully it didn’t and the last ingestion went successfully. Thank you for your guidance.
