Remove a comment originally from a blog imported to WordPress?
-
Hello, I have a question about removing a comment from an imported blog. A while ago I found where you could add comments to a blog I was following (the blog was on the Blogger platform at the time), and so I impulsively tried to comment. Doing so required me to set up a Google+ account, which I hastily set up. I consider myself a very not tech-savvy person and didn’t know how Google+ worked very well so I accidentally ended up putting my first and last name as the name that shows up with the comment, though I hadn’t originally intended that.
A little while later, the owner of the blog got the whole blog transferred from Blogger to WordPress. I could have saved myself a lot of trouble if I had realized you could change your Google+ name (and thus your commenter name) before he switched blogs, but I only learned that after the blog had been moved to WordPress.
So from what I have gleaned from other posts on these forums, the owner of the blog should be able to remove a comment I made if I ask him, and do so easily, is that right? But what I am worried about is if there are complications to the comment being from the old blog that was transferred from Blogger. Would removing a comment that was originally a Google+ comment transferred from Blogger be difficult to do, or possibly mess other parts of the blog up? Because if so, I might not want to bother with asking the blog owner. He is very busy, and I really appreciate his blog, and I only wish to ask him if it is relatively easy to fix.
Also-would posting a comment asking for him to delete my other comment be the best way to communicate with him? I haven’t yet found any other sorts of contact information on his site. It’s just that publicly commenting would be an embarrassing way to do it (I will do it if there is no other option though.)
Thank you
