Remove a site from WordPress

  • I have two different WordPress sites, one with a www URL and one with a blog URL. How do I remove the site with the blog URL? I use Dreamhost and only have the www URL site registered, but people can still access the blog URL site if they type the blog URL into their web browser.

  • If these “sites” have the same domain name, then presumably they’re the same site, yes?

    Sounds like there may be two installs of wordpress and the blog is a subdomain of the main site. Maybe look in your root and determine if there are indeed to different installs.

    Thanks, WebStyley — you’re right. There were two installs of WordPress on Dreamhost. I was able to delete the site with the blog URL on Dreamhost by going to “One Click Installs”, choosing “Remove Previously Installed Software.” and selecting the site with the blog URL. Now it’s gone. hooray!
