Remove Accent

  • Hello.

    Is there a way to remove accents when someone is searching for a word?

    For example in Greek language when someone searches the greek word ball

    μπ?λα the first ? > α to be converted to the same letter without accent.

    Is this possible?

    It’s possible, but depending on your database configuration, it might actually be unnecessary. I just tried this, and if I add “μπ?λα” to a post on my test site, I can find it when I search for “μπ?λα” or “μπαλα”.

    I guess the main question here is – why would you want to do that? If you want the post found with or without the accent, that should work already (if it doesn’t, what is your database collation?).
