Remove “Add to Cart” from Slider

Is it possible to remove the “Add to Cart” button from the homepage slider images?

Reason I want to remove them is because the “Short Product Description” text for the products assigned to the sliders are overlapping the image, and it looks terrible.

And there is no option to remove the product description text from the image, from what I can see. So I want to just use the sliders as headers but not product links, since the text overlaps the pictures.
