Remove child theme

  • Hi

    I’m totally fed up with this.
    I followed everyone’s advice and installed the Twenty Seventeen child theme and now I’ve lost all my formatting and it looks a complete mess.
    How do I restore my original please or how can I restore the CSS/PHP files?

    Sussed it!
    You go to Appearance, Editor and top right is a drop down menu – choose Twenty Seventeen, Select & Update Files.
    This restores the pre-child formatting.

    So, if I backup regularly, why do I need a child theme please?
