• Hello

I am trying to remove the date from the byline on the posts that appear on the Mission News Theme’s home page.

I cannot find this line ct_mission_news_post_byline() in the functions.php file so I can put this – $date = ‘no’; – before it.

    Is there a workaround?

    Thanks

Ok – I found the function. I have not created a child’s theme. I could try that. I’m not 100% confident. Is there a way to remove the date without the child’s theme. I notice that $date = ‘no’; is already in the funstions.php file.

    Thanks for using Mission News!

There is an option for this built into the theme. Please open the Appearance > Customize menu and then navigate to the Show/Hide Elements > Blog & Archives section, and you will see an option to hide the date from the byline there (screenshot).

Thank you, Ben. I saw that – and the function was set to not show the date. But the date still showed even after deactivating plugins.

But – when I set the byline to show the author’s name – and the function to remove the byline date is set to yes – the date is removed. Go figure. Good thing I do not mind the author’s name showing.
