Remove default language from URL?

We have a website registered in France
The default language is in French but we are translating it to also show English
The website address ends .fr
When we use the translation software all urls have /fr added for the French Version /en for the English version
So the home page in French is https://stephenclarke.fr/fr/
And in English it is https://stephenclarke.fr/en/
Is it possible to have the French language pages not showing /fr.
So when someone lands on the website they see https://stephenclarke.fr/
not
https://stephenclarke.fr/fr/
And on the About page
https://stephenclarke.fr/propos/
Instead of https://stephenclarke.fr/fr/propos/
