• On a fresh install of WordPress, default Widgets will be added to sidebars (Appearance -> Widgets): Search, Recent posts, Recent Comments.

Is it possible to remove these automatically? I have a multisite and with every new site, I have to delete these manually.

I did research on this, but did not find any working solutions.

    Thank you for the answer!

I believe this solution is not what I’m looking for.

I’m looking to have a clean slate in the widget section for each new site created in my multisite installation, rather than having the default widgets automatically added to the sidebar.

This approach will make the process less confusing for new users, as they won’t have to manually remove these default widgets. They should be able to start with an empty widget area and add widgets as needed. The goal is to enhance user experience by simplifying the initial setup for each new site.

I still want users to be able to add these widgets later, so removing them entirely is not an option.
