Remove email address requirement for new users

  • How do I remove the email address requirement for making new users?

    I’m putting together a blog for a teacher, so he can post information and lecture materials. He’s going to be creating the users (for students) and passwords. We do not need an email address for every user. Right now he’s just putting in dummy addresses, because it won’t let him make a user without one. How do I fix that?

  • Yeah, I have the exact same issue.. will follow this post.. I would like to disable the email requirement when making new users back-end. Basically I need to create users that only have a username and a password.. no email.

    Interested too, nobody could help?

    I’ld like to manually add some users from the Administration Users Menu without having to create fake mails for each of them. All the solutions in this forum are related to removing email requirement for comments users. But here it’s about removing email requirement for any user created with Administrator’s rights. How could it be possible?

    Note: yes I know the security problems but I really need this real admin rights for users management.
