Remove featured image from showing in the Blog

How do you get rid of the featured image from the blog but keep it for the recent posts on the home page?

If you click on the recent post on the front page it takes you to the post, which doesn’t show a huge featured image.

If you click on the blog section of the menu you do get a huge featured image, this is doubly annoying if the post only has one image (it gets shown twice).

I know its a free theme, so assistance really is appreciated.
