• This is a fresh installation. Previously (mostly on WP.com), there’s been a way to select no header picture. I remember a screen with several options for the header, including uploading a picture or saying no picture.

Now, the only place I can find to set the picture is the new customizer. The Current header line says “No image set”. The site rotates through the default suggested images for the theme.

Bug, hidden, or feature intentionally removed?

I figured it out, but don’t like the way it’s set up.

First, I had to actually select a header image, even though I didn’t want an image at all.

Then it showed the selected header and a Hide Image button.

There should be a No Image option from the very start, regardless of what the default is.

Agreed. And when I click “Hide Image” I’m getting a big white box with a black border… I clicked “hide” not “show a big white square with a black border” :-/
