Remove index.php from path

I have this as a custom setup:
/archives/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/

No. It is because I am on IIS, not on Apache? I really need to get rid of /index.php/ in path! Please…

Without the /index.php/ in your path, WP is going to rely on mod_rewrite and the .htaccess file. This is a Apache feature and as such it wouldn’t work for you.

So unless you switch over to Apache, you’re stuck with index.php in your permalink.
