Ah, it’s the blockquote. Try adding the following CSS.

.testimonialswidget_testimonial blockquote {
  background: none;
}

Alternately, enable q tags on Compatibility & Reset tab of Testimonials > Settings.

oh sweet – yeah prefer the ‘enable q tags’ option.

I had the same problem so I used the above recommendation and it removed the blockquote but now the testimonial text has some blank left margin? How do I get rid of that?

I tried the following css but it didn’t help:

margin-left:0px;
}
