• Hi,
I am fairly new to WordPress, brand new to your theme.

Just downloaded Stained Glass and love it so far! Just trying to figure out how to remove the ‘Leave a Reply’ from “Pages” that I create.

I want people to be able to comment on my Blog Posts, but not on the pages of my website.

How do I remove the section from new pages I create?

    Thank you
    Lori

  • In the editing page screen, look for Discussion meta box (usually down below the content editing section) and check/uncheck the option to allow comment.

If you don’t see that metabox, look at the top right and pull down the “Screen Options” tab.

    Hi paulwpxp,

Thank you for your response, however, on the page edit screen, there is only a Sharing meta box at the bottom and No Discussion meta box. And in the “Screen Options” drop down, ‘Comment‘ is unchecked, but on all my pages, with the exception of the home page, have the “Leave a Reply”/”Comment” section on the bottom of the page.

Please see my website at https://www.harbourinlet.org if you need to.

Please advise how to remove this. Thank you

And in the “Screen Options” drop down, ‘Comment’ is unchecked

We need to have it checked, so that the Discussion meta box will appear (under the content editing screen) and then we can set it to not allow comment there.

    Ok thank you…

The comments box is now checked.

On a page edit screen, at the bottom is a new meta box that says “Comment”, and beneath the word Comment there is a only one button that says, “Add Comment”. Nothing that says, “do not allow a comment”.

If I knew how do put a screen shot here I would, but I don’t.

    Hi Again,

    I figured it out.

The “Discussion” meta box is what I needed to see on the page edits.

I went to the “Screen Options” drop down and checked off “Discussion“. This revealed the “Discussion” meta box at the bottom of my Page Edits. The Discussion meta box gives the options to “Allow Comments” and “Allow trackbacks and pingbacks on this page”. I unchecked both of these and no longer have the “Comment” window on my pages.

Thank you for your help “paulwpxp”. I hope this helps you “besant ganesh”.

I’m having trouble removing “leave a reply” from my pages. I’ve done as HarbourInlet explains but… think my problem is because my pages are already created. Anyway to remove this from previously created pages? Actually trying to remove all widgets from pages
