Remove link from meta sidebar

  • I currently have the meta widget on my sidebar. While wordpress is a great cms no doubt I find it abit odd to have the wordpress link in my sidebar in the meta widget. It makes it seem like I’m purposely advertising this site. How do I remove it from the list?

  • I removed mine in:
    wp-includes > widgets.php

    remove the line:
    <li><a href="https://www.ads-software.com/" title="<?php echo attribute_escape(__('Powered by WordPress, state-of-the-art semantic personal publishing platform.')); ?>">www.ads-software.com</a></li>
    around line 554 (search the page for https://www.ads-software.com)
