Remove link from taxonomy category + display them as shortcode

    Dear CPT UI,

    I would like to remove the url’s from the taxonomy pages. I have a filter plug-in that lets me filter the taxonomy pages with Ajax, so I do not need those category pages anymore. I would like to remove the url from them, so people do not get stuck in the category page. How do I do this?

    Also, I would like to display these category’s as tags. I do not need help with the CSS or the placing, but I would like to know if I can show these taxonomy’s with a shortcode so I can implement them in some hooks my theme uses.

    For the first part, are you talking about permalink customization? or actual display of clickable links on the pages?

    Not sure what to suggest just yet if the first part, but if you’re meaning the second part, you’re going to need to look into template/theme customization, which we don’t have any hand in.

    Yes, you should be able to rig up something to help with term display and the shortcode, but that’s not something we have available with CPTUI and also not CPTUI-Extended in case you had noticed our premium extension.

    Hey Michael,

    Thank you for your fast response! I am talking about the complete removal of the clickable links. I want the label to be there, just not the link. Is this possible with some CSS perhaps?

    About the shortcode. I can make some results happen with ACF, but only the ID of the taxonomy and not the label. I will contact them about this.

    CSS alone won’t remove the HTML and the link aspect for it, so that’s going to be a template level edit being needed.

    Sounds good on the rest.
