Remove list layout in secondary widget

Hi all,

I just wondered whether there is a way to present link images in a sidebar but NOT in a list layout. At the moment they are arranged in a list, one under the other but I would like them to be arranged just side by side. I remember I managed to work out a way back for another website but we’re talking three years ago.

So far I’ve only seen way to customise the actual list itself in widgets and categories.
