How can I remove the logo? And how can I prevent that the plugin is loaded on all posts and pages where there is no captcha needed? For some reason I can’t find the advanced features.

  • Hi @michael8888

It looks like you are using reCAPTCHA V3 which appears in all pages. If you use V2, it will appear only on the selected form.

Yeah looks like I use v3. What’s the point in adding the captcha code on all pages? And what is the purpose of the logo?

It is the feature of Google reCAPTCHA. However, we are planning to add options to show/hide it in specific pages.

I wonder what this “feature” is for on pages without forms? Does this prevent bots from loading pages? I can’t find anything about this in Google’s documentation.

No, it does not prevent bots from loading pages.

Then it sounds more like a bug than a feature. I removed the code now from posts with the Plugin Organizer plugin and made the logo disappear with CSS on the rest. I hope this won’t break the captcha feature.

Just tested with PageSpeed Insights. Google reCAPTCHA significantly drags down site performance on mobile pages. You can see it under Reduce unused JavaScript. So the end result is that you get rid of a few spammers, but you will loose many real visitors because Google will downgrade your rank. Thus, you really need to remove reCAPTCHA on all pages where you don’t really need it.
