    I have inadvertently added a mailchimp popup signup form to my homepage using a plugin.

    Which plugin?

    Mailchimp for WordPress, I think I downloaded it from WordPress plugins.

    The popup is not coming from the plugin, it’s coming from Mailchimp itself. Check the “Subscriber pop-up” settings on the MailChimp control panel.
