I’m hoping that someone can point me in the right direction here, as this seems to be a very simple request / option. Why am I forced to have the meta box both underneath the editor AND in the sidebar? I don’t see an option that allows me to pick one or the other, and when I use any custom code that could remove it pre-gutenberg it causes errors in the categories in the sidebar.

I hope I’m overlooking something here. This seems like such a simple and no-brainer customization option here. The metabox at the bottom looks horrible in the gutenberg editor and I’d much prefer to only show used the nicer sidebar version.

    Hello Troy,

Thanks for reaching out about the Yoast SEO meta box. You can have it in the sidebar alone by following these steps:

    1. Click the vertically-aligned ellipsis/three dots (“?“) when you go in to edit a post/page
    2. Scroll down to Preferences
    3. Click Panels
    4. Toggle the buttoon to turn OFF Yoast SEO. See screenshot.

    I hope that helps.

Thanks, but I should clarify that I’m looking to do this globally. We have well over 800 users across 500+ sites in my org. Not having an option to clean up the UI across the board is disappointing to me as a UX/UI guy.
