• I am in the process of setting up and building a WordPress site. I did a Google search on my name today and came up with my new “still under contruction site” along with my personal telephone number. During the time I am working on the new site, it is hosted under another domain I own. I do not see the number on the site itself, just in the Google listing.

I do not want my personal phone number out there for all to see. I have looked everywhere and can’t find out where it might be so I can remove it.

    Please help this is important!

I did a search on your name (assuming it’s what’s in your URL) and there’s no number.

If the OLD domain had your phone number on it, you have to wait for the cache to expire. But if you didn’t put it on your WP site, then it’s not that at fault.

I’m not sure you saw the right Google results by just using my ID which is not my web URL
    .
A have a screen grab of the Google listing here. I did not put my phone number on anything that should be published. possibly when I filled out the initial info for WordPress (which I thought would remain private) I gave my phone number.

My number is listed on the 3rd and 4th Google listing shown in this grab.

Looks like the screen grab is not showing up. I used the URL of one of my sites, but it was cut off in my response.https://designersjewelryonline.com/DUPLEX/google_search.gif
I have tried again to paste the link. Hope this works.

Ah, okay, that’s called Google Cache. Basically, at some point YOU put that on your site. Keep in mind, it was not WordPress, it can’t know anything you don’t tell it, so you must have told it.

If you’ve taken it off your site, you either wait for the cache to expire, or make a Google Webmaster account and ask Google to recrawl your site.

so did you figure out how to get it off.. my number is out there too… help me out please.

My problem finally resolved it’s self. I asked Google to revisit my site and I guess they did. Hope your problem goes away soon for you.
