Hi, i’m building a woocommerce website for my cunsumer with avada theme. Everythings is ok but in some pages woocommerce put this code line in the header <meta name=’robots’ content=’noindex, follow’ /> and so the seo is blocked. Someone know how is it possible to remove it? I’m using seo yoast plugin to improve my seo, but this didn’t work on that meta tag.
I already try to deactive all plugins, setting Yoast SEO, but this line code disappier only if I deactive woocommerce.

Here some examples of pages with problem:
    https://www.saporelite.com/shop/acquisto-farina-online-farine-integrali-bio-e-farine-artigianali/
    https://www.saporelite.com/shop/riso-carnaroli-integrale-e-riso-artigianale/

Here some pages where there are no seo problems:
    https://www.saporelite.com/prodotti/cereali-biologici-e-legumi/

We’re sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue on your site.

There are a number of ways you can set pages to noindex, so we would recommend checking all of them.

We would first recommend checking to make sure the robots meta tag is NOT set to noindex for the content type or taxonomy as a default setting, and you can check this setting by performing the following actions:

? In WordPress go to SEO>Search Appearance>Content Types
? For Pages set ‘Show Pages in search results’ to ‘Yes’
      ? Click ‘Save Changes’

In addition, you can set pages/posts setting of whether to be indexed individually on the page’s edit screen. You can check this by performing the following actions:

? Go to the Edit screen for a page/post
? Scroll down to the Yoast metabox
? Click on the ‘Advanced’ area
? For ‘Allow search engines to show this Page in search results?’ make sure this is set to ‘Yes’
      * Note (setting this value to Yes will set meta robots to index and setting No would set meta robots to noindex)

We also have a guide on how to set a page/post’s meta robots tag to noindex here: https://yoast.com/help/how-do-i-noindex-urls/

Hi thanks for the support. I already done it but the situation don’t change. Yoast don’t work in that pages..I already try to deactivate all plug-in and the meta tag no index disappear only if is woocommerce plugin deactivated…

    Hi @matgarro

Could you let us know what sort of page that is that you’ve referenced? Is it a product category page?

Could you check if you were to edit that product category and go to the advanced tab in the Yoast SEO meta box and see what you’ve set regarding the settings and attach a screenshot here? You can use snipboard.io or a similar service to upload and image and share a link here.

Otherwise, if the settings are all correct, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict, is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

Please test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

If you do not feel comfortable to do this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.

The same thing happens to me, there are WooCommerce pages that always keep the NOINDEX option, these pages are:
    /shop
    /cart
    /checkout

    Hi @webpamplona

We are sorry you’re having a similar issue. Please open a new request. That way it’s easier to track issues and provide assistance. Thanks!

Also, just to let you know, WooCommerce, sets those pages to ‘noindex’, so even if you were to deactivate the Yoast SEO plugin, those would be the default values set.

Hi! Thanks for all the support. I solved the problem. The noindex metatag was inserted into the page because I used the avada cart widget and not the standard woocommerce cart widget within the page. I removed the avada shopping cart widget and all the noindex meta tags are leaving the page!
I have another question. I have already submitted a sitemap to the Google search console. I send it a long time because the site is not already indexed … only 23 pages of more than 400. I have seen that within the google search console many pages are ignored by google scan because the canonical pages is always the domain name. I have already checked and all pages are different. How can I redo the google page scanner? I looked at the sitemap being read again, but the problems didn’t go away.`

@matgarro Thanks for your reply and for confirming you were able to resolve the issue with the noindex tag.

As for your other concerns, we’ve addressed each individually below:

I have seen that within the google search console many pages are ignored by google scan because the canonical pages is always the domain name. I have already checked and all pages are different.

When you say that the canonical page is always the domain name, do you mean that the value of the canonical URL for these affected pages is just the URL of the home page? Can you please provide us with an example URL of where this issue is occurring so that we can check into this further?

How can I redo the google page scanner?

Have you already tried resubmitting your site’s sitemap? If not, we suggest the following actions to resolve this :
