Remove, (or stop) autosave WP vers 3.5

  • Hello, I’d like to turn off autosave. Our client is insisting I disable this for them. Problem is, all of the suggestions I’ve found on the wp-forums via google haven’t worked.

    The paralegal makes changes and leaves them unpublished for the attorney’s to proof-read the next morning, (this is what she used to do before vers 3.5). Since they had us update to 3.5, (not 3.5.1) their posts they edit regularly have been auto saving publicly which allows their clients to see what is being edited even before it’s published.

    Please if anybody can help, it would be greatly appreciated. I’ve tried editing wp-config/functions etc….with no luck.

  • Did you mean the revision? if yes, i recommend https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/tw-disable-revisions/ this will prevent it from saving revision every minute or so while editing post.

    I believe so. Basically the clients site is 100% wordpress, all of their pages are built to suit what type of law they practice.

    Once a page is built, they edit the content on a regular basis. Constantly updating the cases they’re working on, the results of cases etc. Each time they click edit entry. If they type a new sentence and walk away, it’s showing live already before they update publishing.

    They want that turned off completely. Is that what the plugin will do?

    You need a workflow revisions/approval thing such that paralegal changes page, submits it for approval by lawyer. WP has stuff like this in the plugins section, I think…once you find something and put it in everyone will be happy…basically you want something such that paralegals can edit but not publish and lawyers get notified something must be approved to be published…
