    Hello!

We use guest checkout and I have been asked to remove a specific customer’s email adress. As I never have done this before I just tested doing this with my own email adress.

I went to tools – remove personal data. I then filled in one of my email adresses that I have used for a test purchase previously. I sent the request. I received an email where I could confirm the removal. So far so good, I thought.

I then went to the specific order and I could still see the email adress listed in the order. Also when I go to customers the email adress is still there. What exactly has been erased here? Am I missing something? I thought the email adress would be completeley “erased” from Woocommerce.

Any help is very appreciated ??

    Hello @isabella92!

Before processing the account deletion request, were the following options enabled?

You can find them in WooCommerce -> Settings -> Accounts & Privacy.

    Hello!

No these two fields are not checked, should I check them and then try again?

    Hi @isabella92,

Yes, you should enable those settings and try again. If I understand correctly, you want to remove a user from your site and erase their email from all associated orders.

If that’s the case, keep in mind that this method anonymizes personal data in order details when a user requests data erasure. This means the email address, billing/shipping names, and addresses will be removed or replaced with placeholder values.
