Remove polylang plugin

    Hi , i have installed polylang + woocommerce addon. My website is in english and french. In wordpress general settings , English language is selected as default.

    I want to get rid of dual language , delete french language.

    What steps i should take ? keeping in mind Seo is not disturbed. I dont wont “FR” language 404 pages in my search console..

    Hello,

    First, you need to manually remove your French content. You can use the admin language switcher to filter your content in French to ease the process. Once done, you can delete the French language and uninstall the plugin if you don’t need it.

    If you remove the content and plugin, all your French pages won’t exist anymore. So if someone uses a URL of an old French page, it won’t be found. This is exactly what the 404 code says. The page doesn’t exist. You can’t really avoid that.

    Some people prefer to redirect 404 pages to a specific page using the 301 redirect. There is a plugin for this https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/404-to-301/. However I never used it so I don’t know if it’s something that would help you.
