It is very easy to remove that link. Just click the link to purchase the plugin.
That will give the author some money for her/his work and encourage further development.

Remove the link by purchasing the plugin…? That’s dodgy and really a bad idea to put in here.

That sort of behavior would get the plugin delisted here and possibly banned. Any links that the plugin produces must be turned off by default.

Emphasis mine. I just installed the plugin and it is breaking the rules.

You can remove that by deleting lines 259 through 274 in the file extra_search_fields.php but when the author updates the plugin that unwanted link will return.

You can report that behavior to plugins [at] www.ads-software.com (which I will do in a few minutes).

The original poster has already removed the link by setting display: none in css, which also works and might be easier to handle when the plugin is updated (only one line needs to be changed). I used the css method before I purchased the plugin.

Yes. That’s completely besides the point. This plugin needs to follow the rules that all plugins hosted here do.

I am sure this is just a misunderstanding on the plugin author’s part and can be easily fixed.

I agree that the plugin does not follow the rules. I just wanted to suggest an alternative that might be easier to maintain than deleting several lines of code (until the plugin author has corrected the mistake or withdrawn the plugin from www.ads-software.com in order to comply with the rules)

It seems that the guidelines for hosting in the plugin repository have changed since I first uploaded this plugin in 2009. I have removed the offending link in the latest version.
