    Dear community!

I really hope that someone can help me out because I am searching for weeks for a solution but I cannot find any! I installed and configured the WP e-Commerce shop plugin and I am really satisfied with this kind of plugin. But there is one big problem.

I have an online shop where I sell products with a shipping rate of 4.00€! It is always the same and the shipping cost won′t change. It does not matter if the customer orders 3 or 6 CDs.

I need this “Calculate Shipping Price” to be removed. Instead I need a fixed shipping price of 4.00€ ALWAYS! I do not care if I need to change some code but I really hope that someone can help me out and tell me what I have to change.

    To sum it up:
    1) Remove “Calculate Shipping Price
    2) Shipping cost should be always 4.00€!

    Please help me!

    Regards,
    Chris

  • Does any one know how to fix this one? I also been trying to remove this calculate shipping price since we have a fix rate for shipping and use only one type of shipping. I manage to hide the country and state drop down but i kept getting and error “Please select one of the available shipping options, then we can process your order.”

We have the same problem. Shipping only to one country and using Flat Rate shipping options for the shipping price.

Removing the calculator code block gives the “Please select one of the available shipping options, then we can process your order.” error message.

What’s the fix for removing the calculator and getting shipping to work?

Me too am also looking for an answer to this. ??

    Hello community,

Ray here with WP-eCommerce Support team.

Unfortunately at this point, shipping calculator is a mandatory part of WP eCommerce. We received many comments regarding the shipping calculator. We will definitely take this into consideration in the future releases.

    Thank you,
    Ray

I presume it is mandatory, but could be removed with bespoke coding?

How about limiting the choice in the country drop down?

    And removing the State/County?

Or are there any third party plugins?

I also need to remove the calculator. It’s confusing to my customers because we have automatic pricing that doesn’t change based on location. If it can’t be removed, I’ll probably lean towards switching over to Woocommerce. If it can be added, can you give an estimated date?

It does seem crazy to me that there has to be such a thing, maybe in the US it is more common, but I can’t think of a single site I have used and certainly none that I have developed where a client has asked for such a thing.

Just being to able to set ‘zones’ and making the shipping fixed on a cart basis is all I want to do.

At the moment I am still trying to figure out how to stop the cart adding all the shipping up and creating shipping costs greater than the price of the goods being purchased.

It is something GetShopped need to sort out as a matter of urgency…

@lujeffcoat – I am currently discussing with my developers about removing this function. If it is practical I will let you know when it is complete, or if we are actually going ahead with it.

I agree that this should be optional. My client only ships inside USA and has set price breaks so there is nothing to calculate.

This is an unnecessary step for us and adds an unneeded level of interaction and completely unwanted step in the checkout process.

Please find or fix a method to make this optional.

    Hi all,

I managed to sort this out for a client a couple of weeks back. He only ships within one country so as for you, having to choose shipping and billing destinations (from a choice of one) just annoyed his customers.

The main fix is inside wpsc-shopping_cart_page.php – hide the unwanted bits using CSS. Then I used this code:

    https://zao.is/2014/07/set-default-shipping-country-wp-ecommerce/

to set the shipping country and then (inside the shopping cart page)
another bit of javascript to set the billing country.

    Thanks whitelamp,

This looks like it could be a step in the right direction. The problem is, I am more design and not programming. I was unable to pin down the code you referred to in the wpsc-shopping_cart_page.php page. When I put the code from zao.in in the functions.php as suggested on his page the site goes completely blank.

Not being a programmer “another bit of javascript to set the billing country.” is above my abilities.

Would have been nice if this were addressed in the update released today.

This is a question we get often enough that I thought it’d be worth a blog post:
