I’m trying to remove the sidebar in my hosted wordpress site, since I have all my meta links in the footer.

By default, I see a search box, archives and some meta links.

The odd thing is that in my blog settings -> Appearance -> Widgets, I have no widgets listed. When I copy in a new widget (e.g. recent posts), the new one appears, removing the old ones. However I’m still stuck with a sidebar!

Any tips for removing my sidebar would be appreciated! Note this is a hosted wordpress site on wordpress.com
