Remove signature image from about

I have tried this put it isnt working. I close it and when I come back in to check it, its open again.

Could there be something wrong with my widget plugin?

When I first go into widget, this comes up:
(There are no widget areas on the page shown, however other pages in this theme do have them.) But after a second or two the message goes and the options appear.

can you try disabling all your plugins temporary (https://www.cssigniter.com/docs/article/checking-for-plugin-conflicts/)
and see if the issue persists?

Please try one of the following:
a) If in customizer, once you click the X button on top of the image, go to one of the text fields and add and remove any character. The customizer will notice that something changed and it’ll then update the preview correctly. Once satisfied with the preview, you can then hit Save & Publish for the changes to be saved.
b) Instead of the customizer, go to Appearance > Widgets and apply your changes there. It will work as intended.

As far as this is concerned, it is normal WordPress behaviour.
The customizer shows only the widget areas that are currently active, so the preview on the right needs to completely load, and only then the customizer shows the active widget areas.
