    Hi,

I manage this site: https://www.5ca.com. For some reason, the site title for the home page in SERP shows up as:

5CA: Outsource Customer Service in 20+ Languages
(‘5CA’ being the sitename, followed by : and the SEO title as set in the Yoast plugin)

It has been set up in the plugin as %%title%% %%sep%% %%sitename%%. This is also how it’s set up in the homepage’s page-specific settings so it should show up as:

Outsource Customer Service in 20+ Languages | 5CA

    But it doesn’t.

What can I do to fix this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

We can confirm Yoast is outputting the right title in the source code (see image: https://pasteboard.co/GQSGrib.png).?We suggest three options to resolve the issue:
?1. We ask that you improve the titles.?Google sometimes changes the title to be more descriptive and to help users when they search.?This guide explains more:?Google shows different metas?for my site. You can learn more about improving them with this guide:?https://yoast.com/page-titles-seo/
?2. Then use?Fetch as Googlebot?to encourage Google to reindex the page and update the search results accordingly. This guide explains more: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6066468?hl=en. Check in Google to see if the right one then appears. You may need to run Fetch as GoogleBot a couple times.
?3. Consider contacting Google by making a post on their forum and asking them why GoogleBot is changing the title. You may contact Google here: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/webmasters.?
